Sofia turned 4! yay!
This year I was not planning on throwing a big party for her but with so many friends and family it is impossible not to. Plus I felt like the last 9 moths Sofia has had to share the attention and spotlight with her sister, so I wanted to give her a big day for herself. Amazon, Family Dollar and the 99cent store were my best friends over the las two months. First, lets start with the favor bags. I didn’t find any bags that I totally liked so I made my own. I simply printed my favorite My Little Pony images and glued them to the bags I purchased at Family Dollar 3/$. I stuffed the bags with candy toys and play dough I purchased by bulk.

For the table favors I purchased MLP cups (FD) that I stuffed with popcorn and wrapped with clear cellophane bags.

I also found candy covered marshmallows at a Dulceria near me and put them in sticks and wrapped them with clear bags. And this sign I purchased at the 99cent store for under five dollars.
The chocolate covered apples were from @berryinfused she’s seriously super talented. She also brought the MLP favor boxes.

My awesome Mom like always came thru with her cake creation, pleasing all of Sofia’s wishes. I also placed rainbow twizzlers in a pink container.
The rainbow curtain was made out of plastic table covers I purchased at the 99c store, I used two of each color so $10 total! I simply stapled them to make the fold to hang them like curtains. I used a photo stand I purchased for another party on amazon but it can also be hung in a string to the wall. I used 40 white balloons (99c sore) and inflated them with a $20 dollar balloon pump I purchased on Amazon, this was a must since I had to inflate so many gallons for the other arch. I tied the balloons in fours and used clear fishing line/string to make the arch (just youtube a tutorial). I hung it to the wall to give it a cloud look. The MLP helium balloons I got from Amazon.

For the centerpieces I purchased clear vases at Family Dollar, the flowers were from Fry’s and the MLP toppers were from the Dulceria (La Bonita in Mesa) but they can also me printed and made by hand. I also purchased little rainbow centerpieces from the 99cent store.

Now the big monster balloon arch was definitely a PAIN haha.
I used two big wooden sheets for the background because I did not want to put holes in my wall. The main frame of the arch was chicken wire so it needs to be either hung or stapled to something. I used around 325 balloons, all different sizes. I purchased all balloons on Amazon. This was a 4 person job. Some people had to inflate, another tied balloons, one person had to hung them, pass balloons. etc etc. Maybe next time I make one of these I will do a video but this was my first time and I was king of learning as I was doing it. I tied balloons of different sizes to give it a 3D look and some of the little ones I glued with a low temp glue gun but they can also be placed with tape (make sure you get a good quality clear tape). The curtains I purchased from amazon but any color fabric can be used as a background. The big arch was definitely challenging but it was all worth it! You can add flowers, leaves and maybe other shapes of balloons to make it even more fun.

I got this awesome banner from Walgreens for only $15 dollars! Thanks to my friend Geo for the tip!

For entertainment we had a toddler water slide and a 15 ft tall for the bigger kids.
Little by little the $$$ started adding up haha but I can’t even imagine how much I would’ve had to pay for someone else to do all of it. In my family we love big parties and we put so much work into them, it’s all worth it. Sofia was smiling from ear to ear the entire time and I’m sure she’ll be talking about her birthday for a whole year like she did with her Moana party.

I tried to be as detailed as I could but I’m sure I’m missing so much more. So hopefully this helps!
